People who have had LASIK surgery have their vision corrected by reshaping the cornea. However, due to a phenomenon called ‘regression,’ where the cornea attempts to revert to its original shape, some may experience a return of myopia.
Even in such cases, vision improvement may still be possible at our clinic. Many patients choose to undergo ICL surgery instead of a second LASIK procedure to avoid further vision loss.

However, there is something important to keep in mind:
Many people begin to experience presbyopia in their 40s.
Myopia isn’t all bad—because it actually allows you to see close objects clearly.
Once myopia is corrected, the eyes become normal-sighted. While distant vision becomes clearer, near vision depends on the lens and eye muscles to accommodate. Without this ability, close vision can become blurry or double, much like a camera losing its aperture control.

For patients with presbyopia who undergo ICL surgery, reading glasses are often necessary to see clearly up close.
Therefore, if you are in your 40s and considering ICL surgery, it is highly recommended that you carefully consider your lifestyle and desired visual outcome before proceeding.
