Dr. Ryuichi Shimada, a surgeon of our group, delivered a lecture at the 5th Annual Meeting of the ICL Society, held on Thursday, June 25 at The Tokyo Station Hotel.
The ICL Society was established with the aim of reconstructing refractive surgery in Japan through ICL (posterior chamber phakic intraocular lenses), passing on their usefulness to the next generation, and establishing safer and more accurate surgical procedures. The society also aims to promote the wider use of ICL by developing a more comprehensive organization.
Dr. Shimada specializes in ICL among refractive surgeries and is one of the few young doctors actively engaged in both clinical practice and research.
He will continue to actively participate in academic society activities.
