Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

What is the applicable age for bifocal intraocular contact lenses?

Bifocal intraocular contact lenses are suitable for people in their early 40s when they start to feel presbyopia to around 60 when they have cataracts.
After the age of 40, it becomes difficult to see near when you wear glasses or contact lenses that focus to see far away.
This is the beginning of presbyopia. On the other hand, after the age of 60, many people’s lenses will appear cloudy and their vision tends to decline.
If you are over 60 years old and have cataracts, you can use a bifocal intraocular lens for cataract surgery to cure not only cataracts but also myopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia at the same time.
