Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Are there any complications or treatment required after bifocal intraocular contact lens treatment?

Bifocal intraocular contact lenses are the same as the previous ICL without a hole in the lens. Cataract and glaucoma have also occurred after surgery. However, the current lens with hole in the lens greatly reduces the risk of postoperative glaucoma and cataract.
However, because the applicable age for bifocal intraocular contact lenses is older than those having ICL, cataract surgery may be required for age-related cataracts in 10 to 15 years regardless of this surgery.
Also, in rare cases, the lens power and size may not match after surgery and may need to be replaced.
