Choroid is a dark brown membrane with rich blood vessels and pigments, which lies between retina and sclera.

Choroid usually functions as below.

  • ◼︎ Nutritional supply to retina: Choroid has rich blood vessels, which plays a role in oxygen and nutrition supply.
  • ◼︎ Absorb light: This pigmented membrane prevent light go into the area other than the pupil to guarantee the vision quality.
  • ◼︎ Remove the waste: play a role in transporting the waste products in eyeballs.
