【column】What if I develop cataracts or glaucoma in the future after ICL surgery?

I am often asked what to do if I develop cataracts or glaucoma in the future after ICL surgery.
This time we will talk about this question.

【If developing cataracts after ICL surgery】
If you develop cataracts after ICL surgery, you can still have cataract surgery.
The ICL will be removed, and then conduct the cataract surgery.
Cataract surgery involves removing the cloudy lens with ultrasound and inserting a new intraocular lens.

【If developing glaucoma after ICL surgery】
If patients develop glaucoma after ICL surgery, they can receive treatment just like any other glaucoma patient.
After ICL surgery, there may be a slight increase in intraocular pressure and risk of glaucoma, but this can often be managed with treatment with eye drops.
If necessary, the ICL can be removed and cataract and glaucoma surgery can be performed simultaneously.

If you experience any eye problems or symptoms after ICL surgery, consult with the ophthalmologist.
